Why?

There is need in every community.  Often due to job loss, illness or a significant change in the family status, people can and do fall on hard times. No community is immune. For anyone who finds themselves struggling in our community, we want them to know that their neighbors care. We are here to help those in need via our food pantry and through applicable support as they work to get past challenging times.  Sometimes just knowing that people care makes all the difference.

Words of thanks....

"In my lifetime I had always helped others and now I find your kindness towards me is beyond my deepest gratitude and heartfelt thanks.  God bless all who helped, as people that generous are few and rare.  All I can say is thank you, thank you, thank you."
— LNHN recipient of emergency financial assistance and Livingston Senior Citizen

Thank you LCDI

Thank you Livingston Committee for Diversity & Inclusion and our entire community for coming out on MLK day and giving back! Two carloads of PB and J and baked zitis and many non-perishables. Incredible support on this meaningful day of service and truly every day! Thank you!

LCDI lunch and non perishables collection

In honor of MLK day, ZITI, along with PB&J lunches (quality over quantity) and non-perishables will be collected at the town hall today from 1-3. Other collections also going on as advertised by the Livingston Committee for Diversity & Inclusion. Matthew Smith's ziti is AMAZING AND WE ARE SO THANKFUL HE HAS SHARED, but any recipe can be used- we have been asked that question 🙂!  Thank you Matthew, LCDI, and our generous Livingston Community!

MLK Day of Service

This will be a wonderful event and opportunity to give back in a very meaningful way. LNHN, along with other great organizations, is receiving support through multiple collections through this Caring for the Community event. The virtual event in the morning (including cooking demo and craft project) and in-person, outdoor service projects in the afternoon. We hope you find an opportunity to give back and participate.

Thank you Samantha Rosenthal

Big thanks and WOW!!!! In honor of her upcoming Bat Mitzvah, Samantha Rosenthal led friends and family in a baking event and raised over $1,300 for our food pantry!!! Samantha and her mom shopped for some of our most needed pantry items and then donated the balance. Such a fun, sweet and successful night and an example of a mitzvah project that was aligned with interests/skills and also had a big impact. Early Mazels!!!

THANK YOU!!!! LPD

Through the Livingston PBA Local 263, made it very easy for the community to bring holiday cheer to those in need! LNHN was able to take any toys needed and Nick Santinelli brought the majority of the toys to Saint Michael's in Newark. Six carloads and according to Saint Michael's, we made the fun part of Christmas possible for kids that otherwise may not have gotten presents. Big thanks to Livingston Police and our generous community!

Christmas Eve Dinners

Merry Christmas! In the spirit of giving, big thanks goes out to an anonymous donor who gifted all of our LNHN families celebrating a delicious Christmas Eve dinner purchased from a local restaurant. When first inquiring if they could help with meals, we thought they meant for one or two families. They clarified they wanted to do for all. They wanted to have local impact and also support local business as a win/win. We were blown away by this generosity. Tonight our families enjoy not only delicious food but also the special feeling of knowing that their community cares about them. This is what the holidays are truly all about. Thank you to this donor, our volunteers who delivered the meals and to all who continue to support us!

Big Thanks MPE!

Pic doesnt do drive justice as the entire truck is filled with donations and another car took the rest. So many high quality, non-expired donations and many paper goods which can be used by all of our families. Thank you Shane and thank you Ms. Triana, Ms. Szostak, MPE Student Council and the entire school community. Giving hearts during the holidays is just what it is all about! And nothing better than an MPE alum doing the pick up

Let's Get Cooking

Tremendous thanks to all who cooked baked zitis for St. Ann's in Newark. The thanks was so heartfelt- Nick said it was like a Christmas morning kind of appreciation. Apparently we blew them away with our culinary skills and the need they have is so great. We have been asked to try to provide at least 25 baked zitis every Monday morning so they can feed their 75 homeless families. Any more will be frozen and used another day. So please join us in cooking for a community in need. This is a great activity to do with your family. Thank you!

Toy Drive

Holiday Toy Drive Alert!!!! LPD, through the Livingston PBA Local 263, could not make it any easier to do something kind this holiday season. Drop an unwrapped toy off in the police station main foyer 24/7 through Dec 22nd. LNHN will be able to take any toys needed and Nick Santinelli brings the majority of the toys to Saint Michael's in Newark. This was pick up 1 and so many kids will be happy because of Livingston's generosity. Merry everything and thank you for helping to make the holidays bright for kids in need.

Throwback Thursday - THANKSGIVING 2021

This was a complete community, collaborative effort. Under Michelle Lemieux's leadership, the most beautiful baskets were made with much-needed donations coming in from Mount Pleasant Middle School and Livingston Kiwanis. Additionally, all families were given $25 Shoprite gift cards through Livingston Knights of Columbus #3533, Livingston Unico, Livingston PBA #263, and the Livingston Elks Lodge #1855. Turkeys came in from residents and completed the Thanksgiving meal. Our residents were overwhelmed with appreciation and very, very thankful for our help in making their Thanksgiving special..... we pass on this thanks to all who made it possible!
